Ashley and John met in John’s home state of South Dakota when Ashley moved there for work. After dating for a few years, they took the leap and moved to Colorado. Once here, John surprised Ashley with a ring made of family heirloom diamonds, and she happily pronounced: “YES”.
Ashley is a planner at heart, and she loved planning her wedding. She chose purple, grey and ivory as her colors and planned personal touches to complement the mountain atmosphere–with custom cookies and beautiful memory photo displays throughout the venue. Though the ups and downs of Summer 2020 were rough, Ashley and John held firm to their belief that this wedding could happen as planned.
They chose Woodlands as their venue prior to the venue being completely built. With amazing scenery and faith that the venue was going to be gorgeous, they chose this venue with hopes that their out-of-state family and friends could experience the beauty of the Colorado Mountains–and it delivered! Janelle and Stephen, owners of Woodlands, worked hard to make their 2020 weddings happen. They were true pioneer leaders in getting variances, implementing building safety protocols, and keeping their client dreams alive. So together, this team made sure Ashley and John’s wedding was right on target.
The day started with a first look in the Red Rocks with Craig Vollmer Photography followed by the perfect outdoor ceremony overlooking the mountains. A guest deer even sat under the tree and enjoyed the ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests were treated to served appetizers, and drinks on the patio. Dinner was a served buffet.
The large barn doors were opened for outdoor dancing and the night ended with a bubble machine send-off.
They drove off into the night in their well-decorated Jeep, courtesy of the groomsmen.
